I appreciate your comment, Julie. The many definitions of the word serpentine are important to know in and of themselves. The word is thematic with the Year of the Wood Snake but not intended as a slight towards anyone born in that year, just as, say, our list of Dog Words (https://roots2words.com/p/animal-etymology-dog-words) has nothing to do with people born in the Year of the Dog. But I did want to wish readers a Happy Lunar New Year :)

I was just reflecting on that same point and you are quite right. It’s so important to illustrate all sides whenever possible.

With all the confusion in the world I do think it important to emphasize the good intentions. The concept of transformation by “shedding the skin” as a snake would sounds icky but in truth just shows opportunity for positive change. This is a value worth adopting.

We have our dragons as myth to fight the snake is just a baby dragon. Same struggle.
