Tracking the most troublesome tested words
The SAT never stops changing, so we never stop tracking the latest trends in test content. One of the most dynamic aspects of the SAT are the words used to challenge test takers on the Reading & Writing section.
The May SAT delivered the usual dose of both previously encountered and unseen vocabulary. Thanks to all those self-prep heroes on the r/SAT subreddit—led by supermod yodatsracist—for sharing the most challenging vocabulary they encountered on the U.S. and International administrations of the May 2026 SAT.
